Hector Romero Nieto

Hector was born in Midland, TX on December 1, 1969, to the late Gonzala Nieto and Hector Nieto.

He attended and graduated from Odessa High School in 1987. During his school years he participated in football, baseball, and boxing, earning several Golden Glove titles. Hector worked as a welder, which he continued until his passing. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, having backyard BBQs with friends and family and watching the Raiders, especially if they beat the Cowboys.

He is survived by his daughters, Heather Mendoza and her husband Alejandro Mendoza, Imelda Nieto, Elizabeth Nieto and Alexis Nieto all of Odessa; Sister, Gloria Mendoza of Bakersfield, CA and girlfriend Virginia Jacobo of Odessa. Hector was most proud to be known as Papa to his four grandchildren Izaiah Mendoza, Noah Contreras, Jasmine Llanez, and Emmalee Llanez, all of Odessa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Gonzala R. Nieto, Father Hector Nieto, Brothers Paulino R. Mendoza Jr. And Thomas Mendoza, Sister Martha Martinez.

A celebration of Hector’s life will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Odessa Funeral Home 1700 N. Jackson, Odessa, TX at 1:00 pm.
