Jack N. Watkins

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Watkins; and his oldest son, Jack D. Watkins.

Jack left his bride of 68 years, Velma Jane Watkins; James Lee & Dot Watkins of San Angelo, Gary & Vicki Watkins of Odessa; Jeremy & Tracey Watkins of Odessa; Embre & McKenzie Smith of Riverside, CA; Michael Watkins of Austin; Shelby Watkins of Odessa; and Gemma Watkins of Andrews. Billy & Karen Watkins and Jim & Sandy Rogers of Lubbock; and a niece and numerous nephews.

Jack attended Lubbock High School. He worked in construction until he surrendered to full time ministry and went off to Baptist Bible College 1962 (Springfield MO). He began his ministry in Wichita Falls, TX and then numerous other locations before coming to Odessa in 1971. He worked for Temple Baptist Church until retirement in 2000 after 29 years of service. Jack then moved his membership to Calvary Baptist Church of Odessa where he served his Lord & Savior.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3 PM at Calvary Baptist Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Embre Smith, Rob Teakell, Rick New, David Lindsey, Lorenzo Rivas, and Robert Rhoads will serve as pallbearers. Buck Wilcox and James Masey are honorary pallbearers.
