

James Richard (PawPaw) Henderson, 92, was born October, 24, 1921 in Shubuta, MS to Oliver and Winnie Henderson. He passed from this life on February 25, 2014 at the Hospice House in Odessa. He married the love of his life, Christelle Buford, on August 4, 1945 in San Angelo, Texas. They were married for 66 wonderful years before he laid Christelle to rest on October 11, 2011.
Jim was a proud World War II Veteran, serving his country in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He was a supervising plant operator for El Paso Products for 20 years before he retired. God gave Jim many talents, which he used to honor God and serve others through his generous spirit. He and Christelle were long time faithful members of Wesley Evangelical Methodist church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his wife Christelle.
Those left to remember his life are his daughter, Carolyn Couch of Odessa; two grandchildren, Brian Couch of Odessa, and Brandy Couch Cranford and husband Chad Cranford of Carrollton, Texas; three great granddaughters, Natalie Couch, Allie Cranford, and Brooke Cranford, who were the lights of his life.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February, 27, 2014 from 6pm until 8 pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Dr., Odessa, Texas. A Service celebrating his life will be held at 3pm Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Wesley Evangelical Methodist church, 1211 E 57th St in Odessa, Texas. Rev. Ronnie Newton, long time pastor and friend, will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
