Jo Anne was a loving Wife, Mom, Grandmother, Aunt and friend who meant so much to so many. She grew up attending school in Odessa, Tx. graduating from Ector High School and later went to beauty school, starting a career she truly loved. Jo Anne built lasting friendships with her clients and took pride in making people feel their best. This was something that never seemed to end, she continued to help her friends with their hair at home even well into her 80s. Aunt Jo loved hosting events at her and Uncle Doyle’s place and after everyone would finish swimming she could be found in her In Home salon washing everyone’s hair even. She really had a passion for what she did and loved people endlessly so having anyone in one of her chairs filled her heart tremendously. She was also a faithful member of Parkview Church of Christ. Aunt Jo always spread the Word of God everywhere she went. You could always count on her sitting in Church every chance she could get and when she couldn’t she still worshipped from wherever she was. Every Sunday before Church you would walk into the living room to her watching the Church of Christ services on TV and singing hymns along with them. She read the Bible and shared God's Word fervently. There wasn’t a soul that she encountered that she didn’t share His Word with.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Bell; her brothers, LeeRoy Bell and Billy Bell; her sister, Lula Faye Duncan; her husband, Doyle Pitman; and her son, David Pitman.
