She was born July 31, 1932 in Winkler County, Texas to Myrtis Lee Nicar and George W Fitzgerald. Joan married the love of her life, Doyle Bingham in 1950. They were married for 65 years. She worked all her life until retirement at Medical Center Hospital. She was a prayer warrior and long-time faithful member of Life Challenge. She was very caring and compassionate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle Bingham, son Dwight Bingham, and two sisters Thelma Jean Layne and Wilma L. Owens.
She is survived by two sons, Wayland Bingham and wife Arisela, James Bingham and wife Beverly, daughter Cindy Hitchcock and husband Darrin, daughter-in-law, Glenna Bingham, grandchildren Krystle and husband Hipolito, Alex and wife Faith, Devon, Donya, Amanda, Belinda, Sabal, Gaige and 21 great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be 12pm Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Life Challenge Church with Pastor Dan Smelser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
