

Katy Lou Haynes Horton, 96 passed from this life on June 8, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Horton was born July 17, 1914, in Duster, Comanche County, Texas to Joseph Edward and Ora Lea (McClellan) Haynes. She lived in many locations during her life including Duster, Pioneer, Hohertz, the Texas Valley, Lamesa and Seminole, Texas.
the family also lived in Mountain Air, New Mexico, Fort Stockton and McCamey, Texas, occasionally moving in a covered wagon.
After she married she lived in McCamey, Penwell and Odessa, Texas.
Mrs. Horton graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1933. She married Hal Horton on October 5, 1938 in McCamey, Texas.
Mrs. Horton Is preceded in death by her husband, Hal Horton; her parents, Joe and Ora Lea Haynes: two brothers, Edward Haynes and Gene Haynes: three sisters; Naomi Davis, Juanita Gaddis, and Martha Maxwell: and two grandsons; Brett and Doye Forman.
She is survived by her children Carol Horton of Odessa, Texas; Ora Beth Royal and Husband Richard of Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas; Steve Horton and wife Linda of Odessa, Texas: as well as two sisters, Alice Fry of Odessa, Texas and Mary Jo McCain of Liberty, Texas.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Renelle Romine of Beeville, Texas, Dawn Forman Littlehat of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jarrad Forman and wife Melissa of Victoria, Texas Chris Horton and wife Deb of Castle Rock, Colorado, Joshua Horton of Austin, Texas, Derek Horton and wife Courtney of Huntsville, Texas, Jordan Horton of Midland, Texas. There are also eight great-grandchildren: Mason Forman and wife Megan, Gabrielle Nolting and Husband Kendall, Brent Romine, Leah Forman, Morgan Forman, Zachary and Landon Horton and Candace Horton. Her great-great- granddaughter Amelia Dawn Nolting is due in July 2011.
Mrs. Horton was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Parkview congregation.
The family will receive visitors at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home on June 10, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The family expresses its thanks and gratitude to the Home Hospice team who have provided care, love, and support for our Mother and the family during these past few weeks.
Memorials may be made to Home Hospice or Odessa Christian School.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Horton officiating, Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Garde
