

He is preceded in death by his father and mother.
Ken is survived by his wife Hope, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage; three children, Kyle Hancock of Odessa, TX., Amy Prather and her husband Jon of Katy, TX., and Craig Hancock and his wife Helen of Plano, TX, seven grandchildren, Ariel Aguirre, Andres Hancock, Jacob and Jordan Prather, Andrew, Nathan, and Katherine Hancock, two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Xzavier Aguirre, brothers, Joe Don and Bruce Hancock, sister, Judeene Blankenship, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was a graduate of Plainview High School. He entered the Navy during high school. He served in the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and was privileged to bear the United States flag at President Eisenhower’s second inauguration ball. Later he served aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga on her maiden cruise in 1957. In 1970 Ken moved his family to Odessa where he worked 35-years at Sewell Ford, until his retirement.
He attended First Baptist Church of Odessa. Ken Hancock will be remembered for his positive joyful attitude, friendly smile, sense of humor, and passion for others. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX., or Odessa Home Hospice.
