Kevin Charles Larson 64, passed away on March 1, 2023, in Odessa, Texas. Kevin was born on October 25, 1958, and raised in Two Harbors, Minnesota by his late parents Lawrence and Dorothy Larson. Kevin made his way to Odessa in the early 1980’s and made this his home. Kevin would love it when people would ask how he got here. He would respond “by truck”, then laugh hysterically. Kevin was quite a jokester and loved making people laugh, smile, and sometimes just shake their heads.
Kevin was a friend to everyone he knew. He loved watching hockey and was Nick, Jack, Riley and Louie’s biggest fan. He loved traveling to Amarillo, Minnesota, Arizona and Florida to see them play in person. His favorite thing to yell at a game was “We want the cup!” Kevin met so many amazing people through hockey. We are forever grateful for all the lifelong bonds that were formed. He would love it when Mona would call him and say, “Pack your pants we are going to see the boys!”
Kevin loved a good drink and a good party. He loved his Minnesota Vikings, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and his two four-legged girls, Downtown Foxy Brown and Miss Lulu. Kevin loved traveling to football games and to the lake with Brittany, Justin, and Aria, and our good friends Bertha and Johnny, Victoria and Marissa. His favorite football games were when the Vikings played the Cowboys, and the gang would invade the Anderson (John and Barb) household. What a great time we all had. We are so fortunate to have done that in the last two years. A rivalry that will continue to last forever, Kevin bled purple.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Looper. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ramona, daughter Brittany and husband Justin Ruiz, son Brandon and wife Melanie Larson, brother Roger Larson; granddaughters Aria Ruiz, (the light of his life) Kaylee and Kaden Larson and a multitude of friends. Although our lives were forever changed on the day he died, we will always have the memories of his laughter, smile, and his love of life. To the man, who literally could not sit still, whose last movie to watch in the theater was “Cocktail” (only because of the name), one last cheers to you, “Kevie”; we will see you on the other side.
The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 5-9 pm at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 10 am in the Hubbard Kelly Chapel followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Hubbard-Kelly. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ochoa, Justin Ruiz, Joe Anderson, Corey Anderson, J.R. Ramos, Richard Ramos, David Barrientes, and Eli Sanchez.
