Larry Joe Norman

Larry Joe Norman, 73, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his home. He was born December 13, 1940 in Rule, TX to Norval & Mary Norman. He graduated from Odessa High School. He was retired co-owner of Norman Battery Electric. He was a founding member and past president of Texas Independent Auto Association. He served in the U. S. Navy. He married Paula Whisenhunt May 9, 1987 in Odessa. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Paula Norman, grandson Louis Manahan, brother Jerry Norman & sister Margie Weaver.

He is survived by his daughters Deena Story of Odessa, Lezlie Veach & husband Charlie of Odessa; son Shawn Manahan & wife Diane of Kerrville; daughter Kellie Von Rosenberg & husband Jeff of Fort Worth; brothers Edward Norman & wife Linda of Italy, TX, Paul Norman & wife Sherry of Odessa; sister Nelda Norman of Del Rio; (9) grandchildren, April Yosko, Jeremy Story, Justin Manahan, Amber Garcia, Ramsi Richardson, Sasha & Krystal Von Rosenberg, & Cody & Casey Veach; & (9) great- grandchildren.

"To try to blend two families is not an easy task. Loving someone else's children just seems too much to ask. It took some time and patience, and understanding from the heart. We linked our arms together and made a new start. God weaved us all together, he made us into one. Two families well blended, he proved it could be done." Over the last 27 years, one of Larry's greatest joys in life was his blended family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
