LaTonya Renee (Wilkerson) Armour, 48, of Odessa, passed away on May 2, 2022. She was born in Odessa on May 8, 1973 to the late Janie Wilkerson and Clint Thomas Sr. LaTonya was a 1992 graduate of Permian High School.
She married Samuel Armour Jr on May 31, 1996. They moved to Houston for about five years where LaTonya worked for a plasma center and also a state hospital & group homes where she cared for children with special needs. After they returned to Odessa, she worked for Odessa Regional Medical Center Hospital for six years and was briefly employed with the Odessa Clover House. LaTonya enjoyed traveling. She was able to travel to London along with attending several professional sporting events. She enjoyed spa days, getting her hair and nails done, and most of all, shopping. She was actively involved in her church, Inner City Tabernacle of Life Ministries. She loved her daughter, Jamilia, more than life. She made sure Jamilia was active in various activities which included Shout Cheerleading and gymnastics and supported her daughter in everything she did.
She is preceded in death by her two children, Jeremiah and T’Avanay; mother, Janie Wilkerson; and grandparents Willie Ann Harvey and Marshall Harvey.
LaTonya is survived by her husband of 25 years, Samuel Armour Jr; daughter, Jamilia (the light of her world); stepson, Tyrone Brooks of Odessa; sister, Jacqueline Lynch of Odessa; brother, Clint Thomas Jr of Odessa; step-sisters, Carla Golden and Kimberly Golden of Fort Worth; uncle, Ra Wilkerson of Odessa; special nieces, Quinqueiara Dewberry, Keontinay Ezema and Bree’Anna Wilkerson; mother-in-law, Maye Francis Armour; granddaughter, Jazzlynn Brooks; good friend, Christy Scott; and a host of other family and friends.
