Laura Ann McNeil

Laura Ann (Slate) McNeil, 75, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Hospice House. She was born September 7, 1937 in Hartford, Arkansas to Grady Joseph & Trudie Mildred Slate. She spent her informative school years at Jal, NM schools, graduating from Jal High School in 1954. She married Dwain McNeil August 30, 1986. She retired in the late 1980’s from a lifelong career in banking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, (2) brothers, Joe Lee Slate & Dennis Ray Slate.

She is survived by her husband, Dwain, daughter, Roycee & husband Stacy Nobles of Llano, TX, sister,

Mary Sue & husband Duane Nobles of Tow, TX, sisters-in-law, Florence Slate of Minneapolis, MN & Myra McNeil of Lubbock, TX, grandson, Jacob Nobles of Llano, (4) nephews, & (3) nieces, & numerous great-nieces & nephews.

Laura was a wonderful wife, mother, sister & friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Lindell Lee officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. CST at the Cooper Cemetery in Jal, NM.

Pallbearers are Jacob & Stacy Nobles, David, Dale & Joe Rand, Larry, Chad & Shay Crawford.

The family would like to thank her many friends of Tanglewood Baptist Church & Sage Wellness Center for all their support & kindness during this time.
