

Lilah Marie Fowler, 88, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Hospice House. She was born October 11, 1925 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a school teacher for Ector County Independent School District for 18 years. She was a member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ. She married L.R. “Buddy” Fowler December 30, 1945 in San Angelo. He preceded her in death September 24, 1994.
Marie had many loves in her life; the first being her Lord, her husband of 49 years, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved teaching English and inspiring her students, studying her Bible and had a lifelong passion for music. She will be missed by all.
She is also preceded in death by her parents Harry & Bertha Baldwin, four brothers & two sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters Vicki Fowler of Austin, Lori Wingate and husband Charles of Odessa, one son, Regi Fowler and life partner Scott Woods of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Wingate & wife Debbie, Ryan Wingate & wife Chelsy, Lauren Hawley & husband Aaron, Megan Davis & husband Kyle, Jameson Fowler, Mallori Wingate, Kellan Wingate; seven great-grandchildren, Macki Wingate, Colin Wingate, Owen Davis, Bennett Davis, Brayden Wingate, Jace Wingate, & Lilah Wingate, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Visitation with family will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ with Lon Briley officiating. Private burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
