Manuel M. Gomez

Manuel M. Gomez, 95, of Odessa passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 7, 1915 in Fort Stockton. He was a retired landscaper and a Catholic.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita P. Gomez, parents, Braulio & Francisca (Martinez) Gomez, sons, Daniel Gomez, & Raymundo Gomez, brothers, Braulio Gomez, Jr, Ricardo Gomez, and sisters, Francisca Martinez , Evita Gomez, & Maria Luisa Ramos.

He is survived by his sons, Julian Gomez of Seminole, Ventura Gomez of El Cajon, CA, Robert Gomez of Midland, Bartolo Gomez, Joel Gomez, Reynaldo Gomez, all Odessa, and Samuel Gomez of Hugoton, KS, daughters, Virginia Garcia of Odessa, Rachel Romero of San Diego, CA, Janet Gomez of Odessa and Margie Baker of Midland, sisters, Ascenscion Garcia of Copperas Cove, TX, & Isabel Montez, of Mertzon, TX, (48) grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bartolo Gomez Jr., Cornelio Landa III, Robert Gomez Jr., Nathan Rey Gomez, & Francisco Garcia III, and Jerry Garcia.
