

Marion Blanche Yeilding, 93, of Odessa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2012. She was born in Coryell County, Texas on April 13, 1918 to Alvie B. Clemons and Ruby Hazel Schley Clemons. She grew up in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas and attended school at Corden Elementary and graduated in 1936 from Gatesville High School where she played on the girls basketball team which sparked her love for basketball and Albert’s love for her. On February 8, 1938 she married the love of her life, Albert C. Yeilding in Gatesville at the home of Rev. E. D. Shelton. They were blessed to spend 68 years together as husband and wife on this earth and now they are celebrating this anniversary together in heaven.
After leaving Gatesville, TX, Blanche and Albert lived in Grandfalls, Crane, and Odessa, TX. Blanche worked as a beautician at Chandler’s Beauty Salon and Childer’s Beauty Salon before opening Blanche’s Beauty Salon that she and Albert owned and operated for 17 years. After they retired they spent their time traveling the country in an RV, fishing at their lake house in Brownwood, hunting on the deer lease, and spending summers in the mountains in New Mexico.
Blanche was a kind hearted Christian woman who loved being around people. Her family was of utmost importance to her. She treasured every moment spent with them. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful cook.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa. Oh, how she loved her wonderful church family! We would like to thank all of you for your prayers, kind words, and visits over the past several months.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her daughter Bonnie Yeilding, both of her parents, brothers, Sam Clemons, James Robert Clemons, and her sister Gwen “Suzy” Dotson.
Survivors include daughters, Donna Carr & husband Roger of Odessa, Marty Cypert and husband Jimmy of Marshall, TX, Kay Forrester and husband Larry of Broken Arrow, OK, brother, Dan Clemons and wife Mona of Odessa, five granddaughters, Shasta Plumer and husband Mark of New Orleans, LA, Christie Wolfe and husband Wes of San Angelo, TX, Tracey Green and husband Matt of Broken Arrow, OK, Tobi Stann and husband Joe of Marshall, TX, and Cynthia Carr of Mesquite, TX, two grandsons, Casey Forrester and wife Tabitha of Broken Arrow, OK, Richard Carr of Mesquite, TX and twelve great-grandchildren, Danica and Cameron Plumer, Sydnee Burleson, Sebastian Cole, Lyric Lee, Tanner Piehler, Paxton and Karis Wolfe, Richard Jr. and Nicholas Carr, Erin Walker, and Kristopher Carr and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Home Hospice, Hospice House of Odessa, and Emeritus at Sherwood Place for all of the love and care you have given to our Mother for the last few months.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 10, at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, TX.
