

Mary Frances Powell went home to her savior on January 4, 2015.
She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 19, 1924 to Sally Mae and James Milton Farmer.
She attended and graduated from Memphis Public Schools in 1943. On June 19, 1943 she married William J. Powell at Ft. Meade in the state of Maryland. In 1948 she gave birth to her only child. She worked as a bookkeeper at Welcome Wagon in Memphis and later as a school secretary in the Memphis Public School System. In 1985 Frances and Jack moved to Odessa to be close to their grandchildren. She worked at ORH as an auxiliary volunteer for 20 years. She also served has treasurer for her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church. In recent years she has been a member of Mission Dorado Baptist Church. For the past years she has lived at Madison Medical Resort.
She leaves behind her sister Katherine Elizabeth Hoss, her daughter Patsy Russell and her son-in-law Randy Russell. She leaves two grandchildren Amy Elizabeth Lane and Robert Alan Russell. She leave four great-grandchildren Michael Curtis Lane, Hailey Elizabeth Lane, Nicholas Ryan Lane, and Sorren Elliot Russell.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Dorado Baptist Church with Rev. Jared Wellman and Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating. Burial will be held in Memphis, TN.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Mission Dorado Baptist Church.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
