

Matthew Valles Castellon was born in Odessa, Texas on March 16, 1988, to Rosie and Michael Castellon, Sr. He attended Reagan Elementary School and completed his public-school education at Crane High School, where he was part of the Varsity Football and Baseball teams.
After Graduating High School, he attended Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas. He was also a member of the Baseball Team at Western Texas College.
Matt had a passion for baseball. He started playing t-ball at age 5, and played all the way through Junior College. He loved all sports and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs, Texas Ranger, and Texas Tech fan.
Matt was a devoted family man and volunteer youth coach. He loved spending time with his family, including attending his children’s baseball, football, and soccer games. You would usually find him on the field serving as a volunteer coach with his children’s teams.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Castellon Jr, beloved grandparents Esperanza and Manuel Valles Sr., Luz “Lois” and Petronilo Castellon, uncle Vidal “Billy” Valles, uncle Desiderio “Desi” Castellon and aunt Luz Marie Rios.
Matthew leaves to cherish his memory, wife Guadalupe “Pita” Castellon, daughter Olivia Fey Castellon, and son Luca Ricardo Castellon, stepmother Melissa Lara Castellon, father Michael Castellon Sr of San Antonio, Texas, dedicated mother, Rosie Valles of Odessa, Texas, and in laws Ricardo “Richy” and Toni Lujan, who treated him like a son.
There were many special people in Matthew’s life, and he loved them all dearly, including his aunts, uncles, and many cousins. In addition, a host of extended relatives, friends, and his work family at Coastal Chemical Company, will miss his beaming smile, big heart, and bear hugs.
A visitation for Matthew will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM. with Rosary Service starting at 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761 A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N Grandview Ave, Odessa, TX 79765, with a committal service & burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E Hwy 80, Odessa, TX 79762.
Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Esparza, Sergio Gonzales, Quincy Molinar, Alfredo Franco, Oscar Covos and Carlos Villa.
