He was born on April 8, 1932 in Yoakum County, to his parents, Emory & Agusta Mabel Freeman Hobbs.
He married Wilma Nell Morton on October 6, 1950, who preceded him in death. He was employed by the City of Brownfield as an electrician, a barber in Ropesville, and was also an over the road trucker and a farmer. He enjoyed camping and fishing. No one ever loved his family more.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2016 at Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield.
He is survived by his daughters Iva Roberson & husband John of Odessa, Kathy Carroll Caroland & husband Eddie of Merkel, Charlotte Hawkins & husband Jackie “Dan” of Trent, and Melody Hobbs of Lubbock, and his son, Merlin Chris Hobbs of Trent, TX. 16 Grandchildren 14 great grandchildren.
The family requests donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
