Nellie Ray

Nellie Jo Ray of Odessa, Texas entered the gates of Heaven on April 14, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 13, 1943 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Henry Franklin “Doc” and Murll Dean.

She worked for Medical Center Hospital and Nurse’s Unlimited.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Neal Ray, her father and mother, step-father D.W. Mears, brother, Harold Franklin Dean, sister, Martha Ann Lee and grandson Brandon Lee Renfro.

She is survived by her children, Danny Renfro Sr., and wife Connie, Robert Renfro and wife Sherry, Lena Renfro, Kevin Renfro and Tina Barrandey all of Odessa. Also surviving are the grandkids who were the loves of her life, Vanessa Burleson and husband Justin, Kim Johnson and husband James, Charles Renfro, Ashley Renfro, Christopher Dickson Jr. and wife Alicia , Danny Renfro Jr, Christina Dickson, Kaylee Renfro, Kelsey Dickson and Cassie Renfro, great-grandchildren include, Tanor, McKenzi and Landon Johnson, Bradyn, Addisyn, Braylea and Jayci Burleson, Aubree Renfro and Jace Dickson, sisters, Freda Power and husband William, Murlene Mears, brother, David Mears and wife Darlene, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that loved their aunt Jo very much. Our mother and grandmother will be greatly missed by all her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Home Hospice of Odessa Rosie, Rebekah, Linda, Dr. McLarey and Pastor Jimmy Braswell who took very good care of our mother and grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Charles Renfro, Danny Renfro Jr., James Johnson, Justin Burleson, Christopher Dickson Jr., and Bill Bedford.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
