Grandma, you were more than a grandma, you were a mom to me. You still are, always will be. No matter what. We both know the love we shared, it’s something that can never be tainted. You showed me how to be a strong woman. You taught me to hold my head up high despite the naysayers. 
You taught me so much in life. Especially how to forgive and not to allow words to affect me. The whole world could be against me but knew you and grandpa were always on my side, on this earth and beyond that. They live near me and inside of me every single day. 
I miss you. So much. I know these past few years were harder especially with certain obstacles but we did it grandma. 
We got you home where you wanted to be. 
A special Thank you to my mom, Melissa, my tio Geno, my grandpa Ray, my Tia sylvia,  my cousin Michael and his wife lala, Vanate, Tiff, Mariah. Thank you guys for all your help and effort in getting grandma home. I’m so grateful for all of you. 
Thank you guys for your strength and most of all your hearts. I see grandma and grandpa in you all. They taught us to work together and to be a family and we did just that. We worked together, for her.  
Grandma, it’s hard not having you here physically but I know you’re here with me.  
I know you were holding my hand yesterday. I felt you. Just like all the times before. You’d hold my hand and tell me it was okay or you’d sing or pray. 
I promise to love the way you taught me. I promise to be strong just like you.
