Pat and family-so sorry to hear of Bud passing away.  My sincere love and sympathy to all of you.  Today, Feb. 8, (2005) Harold passed away in St. Paul's Hosp. in Dallas so he has been gone 9 years today.  He would have been 75 in July.  So glad you have family near you. His Mother, Moselle always pronounced his name "Booud". and his brothers name "Auwthu". She was from Henderson East Texas. Although Bud was 18 years my senior, he was like a playmate to me. He had radios and televisions always in the process of repair and his little bungalow at the headquarters of the YT was a wonderland for a child of 10 like myself. He loved trains and fueled the same in me. He once saved me from drowning in Arthur's swimming tank when I was 5 and taught me to build barbed wire fence and drive that old jeep through the sand hills of Winkler County. When he met Patsy, my dad, WT Riley, and he were close friends. Dad kidded Bud by suggesting he should bring Patsy by for approval before things got serious. Bud didn't know dad was kidding and showed up at our house west of Odessa to get dad's opinion. Bud was wonderful that way. Of course everyone loved her and the wedding was a success. I loved Bud and consider him a central figure in my life. He will be missed by many.

He lived in the house across from Papas-- before he married Pat---he gave the kids a book for penny collecting and helped us get started by giving us steel pennies and other older pennies. I have that to this day. Every time I see him I always think of the penny book and  those times. He will be missed.

So sorry I couldn't be there for the funeral.  I will never forget the Halloween parties at the ranch as teens.  You were all special friends to my family.

Mr. Bud!!! Quite the gentleman!  Had breakfast many times with Mr. Bud his wife and Fred. A man of few words but learned a lot. When we would shoot a deer he was always ready to help any way he could. He will be missed! Glad I had the opportunity to see him again last December. Condolences to the family.
