Sidro Escobedo Moreno

Sidro Escobedo Moreno, 96, died peacefully in his sleep September 3, 2019 under the care of his granddaughter, Leslie Veronica Moreno, at their home in Odessa, TX. He was born on August 3, 1923, in Carlsbad, NM.

Sidro served in the United States Army during WWII. He later married Enriquetta Marrufo in 1944 and they had 3 sons, Joe Moreno, Rudy Moreno, & Frank Moreno. They also had 4 other children who died at birth. He taught himself how to read & write and started working in the pipeline industry as a laborer, later became a heavy equipment operator, and towards his retirement became a Pipeline Superintendent.

He leaves behind his sons, their wives & families, who include: Joe Moreno & his wife, Josie Moreno, Rudy Moreno & his wife, Liberada Moreno, and Frank Moreno & his wife, Ana Moreno; Grandchildren include Steven Michael Moreno, Thomas Ray Moreno, & John David Moreno of Joe & Josie Moreno; AnJanette Euthalia Moreno, Toni Danielle Moreno & husband Alex Castillo of Rudy & Liberada Moreno; Leslie Veronica Moreno, Jessica Nicole Austin, Angela Gabrielle Moreno, & Joshua Isidro Moreno of Frank & Anita Anaya Moreno; Great-grandchildren include Justin Michael Ornelas & Brianna D’Lynn Moreno of Steven Michael Moreno & his wife, Judy Lynn Moreno; Tyler Reed Moreno & Chaley Rae Moreno of Thomas Ray Moreno & Kelley Dawn Bulman; Jillyan Marie Moreno & Madelyn Jaci Moreno of John David Moreno & Lesley Michele Moreno; Haley Grace Francine Moreno of Leslie Veronica Moreno; Dondrell Deangelo Austin Jr., Julius Jordan Austin, Erin Nicole Austin, & Hannah Danielle Austin of Jessica Nicole Austin & husband, Dondrell Deangelo Austin Sr.; Nathaniel Ray Moreno & Mathew Richard Moreno of Angela Gabrielle Moreno & wife, Letisia Moreno; Lydia Ann Moreno of Joshua Isidro Moreno & Kylie LeCompte; and Great-great-granddaughter, Avah Nicole Moreno of Tyler Reed Moreno & Marlen Rosas.

Public viewing/visitation will be at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa, TX on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The Rosary will also be at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Mass will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Good Shepard Catholic Church in Crane, TX & the burial to follow thereafter at the Crane County Cemetery in Crane, TX.

Pallbearers include: Thomas Ray Moreno, John David Moreno, Joshua Isidro Moreno, Tyler Reed Moreno, Dondrell Deangelo Austin Sr., & Arturo Abila.
