Travis Delbert Pieper

Travis Pieper, 91, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on September 17, 2023. He was born December 31, 1931, in Roscoe, Texas to Samuel Monroe Pieper and Myrtle Barnett Pieper. The ninth of 10 children, he graduated from Hermleigh High School and attended Texas Tech University. He moved to Odessa in 1958 and worked in car sales until retirement.

In 1952, he married Bobbye Burns. This marriage produced three children, Pam, Karen, and Paul. He later married Poppy Atyia, who died in 2004, followed by a marriage in 2007 to Virginia Shrum, which lasted until his death.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his children, Pam Kimbrell (Ron) of Odessa and their children and grandchildren, Russel King (Zanden, Zerron, Zaylie & Zaxton), Deanna Dickerson (Desmond, Kenzie & Kallie), Ronda Boner (David, Jaci, & Jalie); daughter Karen Hildebrand (Doug) of Grand Junction, CO and their children and grandchildren Collin Hildebrand (Tori, Abigail and a son on the way), Chas Hildebrand (Janessa & Hudson), and Cameron Hildebrand; son Paul Pieper (Joyce) of Odessa and their children, Megan Pieper and Morgan Case (Evan & a son on the way). Travis is also survived by his sister Jewell Harris of Amarillo and stepdaughters, Cindy Allen (Barry) and Marcy Bradley (Logan) and their families along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family is extremely thankful for loving friends, Pastor John Wamsley at Westminster Presbyterian and the assistance provided by Home Hospice and Home Instead during Travis’ last days.

A public visitation for Travis will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Dr, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4901 Maple Ave., Odessa, TX. A burial will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rosco Cemetery, Roscoe, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Food Pantry 4901 Maple Ave., Odessa, TX.
