

He was married to Lena Ford in 1958 of which was born three children Felecia, Bruce Felicia and Donna all of Chicago Illinois. Also another daughter Tabaith Harvin of Lafayette, LA.Uncle Bill sang and traveled with the Salem Travelers for many years until his retirement as their guitar player.
He was a committed musician and continued to play and practice and train up until his illness.
He married Ella Ford in 1986 in New Orleans Louisiana where inherited seven stepchildren along with Dedrick Thompson whom he raised as his grandson.
He drove a cab with Algiers Cab Company and was known throughout the community for his faithful service.
He evacuated from New Orleans due to hurricane Katrina and Rita with Smoking for Jesus Ministry 2005 under the leadership of Pastor Willie Monnet. He attended church until his health began to decline.
Uncle Bill remained a resident of Burnet County and moved to Cottonwood Shores, Texas until he passed away at Granite Mesa Nursing Home in Marble Falls.He worked for Domino's Pizza for 13 years and volunteered at Smoking for Jesus Ministry cutting grass and delivering meals for the elderly with Meals on Wheels.
Uncle Bill was loved by many and always greeted them with a smile.
He declares that he is is ready to meet the Lord and make heaven his goal which was named after one of the songs which is the name on his last album with the Salem Travelers. He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Ford, his parents Liddie Ford and James Carlisle, a brother John Henry Ford and a great grandson Azariah Sordelet. He is survived by his children Felicia, Bruce, Donna Jo and Tabitha Harvin, granddaughters Adriana Pettis, Shane Wimberly, Maya Copeland Martin Copeland, Stepchildren Dr. Reginald Thompson, Min. Elvin Thompson, Min. Claudette (Pastor Willie) Monnet, Pastor Viva Fleming, Edith Boyd, and Vachel Matthews.
He also leaves to mourn a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including a great granddaughter Kailen Frank. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and neighbors including employees from Domino's Pizza and the many people he delivered pizza to, the Granite Mesa Nursing Home, Sam's Donut Shop and Seton Family of Doctors.

Funeral Service for William “Uncle Bill” Ford will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the Multi-purpose center of Smoking for Jesus Ministry at 10:00 am. Viewing will be held from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.
Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Cemetery. A Repast will be held in the SFJM Cafeteria.
