Albert Richard "Dick" Crandall passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family May 15, 2025. Dick was born November 13,1932 in Grand Rapids Michigan to Vernon and Blanche (Young) Crandall. He had two younger sisters, Arlene and Elizabeth (Bonnie).
Dick joined the Army in 1949 on his 17th birthday. After serving 3yrs during the Korean War, he got out of the service and went back home to Michigan and went to work at a movie theater and an insurance company where he met Dolores Hamelink and they got married.
He rejoined the military in 1956, this time choosing the Air Force, joining the 3rd MOB. He spent a total of 20yrs dedicated to military service. After that, his good friend Jack Rycroft got him a job at Rackley Whirlpool service where he worked on washers, dryers, air-conditioners and small appliances. Later he went to work at Tinker AFB for NAF as their maintenance guy fixing refrigerators, stoves, coke machines etc., for all of the cafeterias and snack shacks on base.
He was also active in the Midwest City Moose Lodge #1234, where he served as the club manager and was one of the bartenders for many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed taking his family to the lake and fishing with his buddies. He also had a knack for cooking and grilling. He never met a stranger and had a very good sense of humor! He enjoyed watching OU football on Saturday's and wanted to know what time Baker Mayfield played on Sunday.
In his later years he joined a water aerobics class at the YMCA where he enjoyed many friends.
