Words cannot describe how sorry I am for learning the passing of Pastor Lee.  I met Pastor Lee through my dad, Hayden, when I first moved to Oklahoma.  The joy that this man exuded was infectious and delightful.  When planning my wedding, there was no other person I wanted to be the officiant, and Pastor Lee delivered a ceremony that we have cherished in our almost 20 years of marriage.  His gut busting laughter when showing him my 21st birthday pics is a core memory that I speak of fondly.

To the Lee family, my most heartfelt condolences.  I’m so sorry that I didn’t find out sooner about Pastor Lee.  I plan to visit his resting place soon to express my gratitude and condolences soon.

Growing up in Luther with Wayne holds fond memories for me. We were all family. He was always someone you could depend on and a great example of kindness and love. He will be missed. May God comfort his family and friends at this time and always.

To the Lee family,
Brother Lee exemplified what it means to be a Black man. He was kind, patient, honorable, and most of all, a true man of God. 

Many of my childhood moments were shaped by the gentle kindness of Brother Lee. I fondly remember him being always present with an inside joke for everyone; which means he had a relationship with everyone. He never seemed untouchable. He was always a big deal, but you never got the sense that he knew it. 

The youth of Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church would all agree that Brother Lee talked the talk, walked the walk, lived what he lived and did what he did. . . All the while being a true witness of his undoubted Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was who we looked forward to seeing at church because we knew we would be met with a genuine smile, at some point be jokingly called a "backslider" and sent on our way with gentleness and love. 

I mostly remember times where he drove the church bus and Brian loved to greet him with a soft but firm pop on the head with his spoon. Brother Lee never got upset. He would say, "Alright now, Brian." That was it. Patience. Times when we were getting out of hand at church, he would let us be kids/youth but still somehow wrangle us without yelling or being hurtful. Kindness. Times when we had cookouts or events at church and he would pick up a ball and shoot around with us or spend time just talking to us. Joy.

Lastly, church caused a lot of hurt for many of us during those times. Brother Lee was a soft place to land. While we needed to understand the hand of God that does not "spare the rod," we also needed to experience the love of Jesus that made us feel safe in His arms. 

Brother Albert Wayne Lee will always be remembered as one who extended the love of Jesus, which made us respect the will, honor, and sovereignty of God. 
Thank you Mama Lee and family for sharing him with us all.  He will truly be missed.

Now in the presence of the Lord. I am glad to have known you. You have always been kind, friendly and a true man of God. To Pam and the family my heart and prayers are with you. I worked out at Dayton Tire with Albert for many years.   It was a true blessing. I pray the Holy Spirit will continue to comfort your hearts during this time of grief and sorrow.
