Anna Merle McDonald

Anna was born in Iraan, Texas living in various Texas Gulf Oil Employee Camps until she went off to college at Texas Tech University. While attending Texas Tech University, Anna majored in Elementary Education. She later completed her Master’s Degree and became a Reading Specialist at Crooked Oak High School where she continued making a difference in her students’ lives. Along with raising her family, Anna taught students for 25 years both in Texas and Oklahoma City. Having a positive impact in children and young adults’ lives was Anna’s main career goal.

Anna married the love of her life, Bobby G McDonald, on October 21, 1955. Throughout their loving marriage of 61 years, they put God and their family first. They had 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Anna loved God, along with her family and lived her abundant faith by example. Her thoughtfulness and kind heartedness was an inspiration to both her family and her friends. She was a blessing to all those who knew her.

Preceding Anna in death are her parents, Marion and Minnie Bell Daniel of Odessa, Texas, Bobby G McDonald, her beloved husband, and her cherished sister and brother, Margaret “Peggy” Daniel Gunn and Kenneth Daniel. She is survived by her three children, Mark McDonald and his wife Mary of Frisco, Texas, Carol Hall and her husband Ross of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Elaine Davis of Edmond, Oklahoma. Anna is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren: Cassie, Bennett, Gregory, Weston, Juliana, Luke and Colson. During her last few years, her special pride and joy belonged to her great grandchildren: Hagen and Rylie.

A very special thank you goes to the Epworth Villa Long-term Care Staff for their devotion and love that they shared with Anna during her five year stay. The Epworth Villa LTC Staff treated her with the upmost care and professionalism at the end of her long and successful life. Anna’s family is very grateful to these individuals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epworth Villa.

A memorial service for Anna will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Brill Chapel at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.

Serving as pallbearers are Colson Davis, Weston Davis, Bennett Hall, Tyler Holmes, Greg McDonald and Luke McDonald.
