

He was born on May 10, 1928, to Lucio and Candelaria Barajas, in Watauga, Texas. He married Georgia “Lupita” Gonzales on December 5, 1948, having just celebrated 75 years of marriage. He served in the Army Air Corps and after that, was a Civil Servant for the US government. This position brought him and his young family to Oklahoma in the late 1950s, where he retired in 1987. He and Lupita were active founding members of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, being a 4th Degree Knight.
He and mom were known for their fundraising Mexican dinners for the parish and he could also be found with his apron on at all the pancake breakfasts, he was the number one salesman for the Knights of Columbus fireworks stand and Christmas tree lot. He was a man of deep, deep faith and instilled that in his children. He was the hardest of workers, could fix anything, build anything and would help anyone who was in need. He was indeed, the best of the best- best husband, best dad, best grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, son, uncle, brother, cousin, friend. He had a loving, gentle demeanor, was loved by all.
Antonio is survived by his wife of 75 years, Georgia “Lupita” Barajas, children – Robert and Trinidad Barajas, Elizabeth and Duane Shriver, Vickie Rivas and Delores Barajas, 6 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, his sister Pauline Garcia and brother, Lucio Barajas. Antonio was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Tony Barajas Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 11:00 am at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 West Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. “Your own labors will yield you a living, happy, and prosperous you will be. A funeral service for Antonio will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
