Arvin Earnest Vaughn

August 8, 2023. Shorty was born on January 5, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James

Herbert Vaughn and Esther Jane Dehass Vaughn.

Shorty resided in Oklahoma all of his life, staying in Oklahoma City, and Choctaw for a brief

moment. He would enjoy spending his time listening to country music, watching TV, and

smoking cigars.

Shorty was a great appliance repairman who also worked on a lot of cars in his lifetime. He was a

man who taught his loved ones honesty and patience. He was always sharp and responsible with

his income, stating proudly “I don’t owe anybody”! The love he had for his kids, his cats, and a

nice cigar in the afternoon would make his life an experience worth living.

Shorty is preceded in death by his first wife Betty Witt, his second wife Alice Patricia Vaughn,

his son Timothy Edward Vaughn, his brother James Herbert Vaughn, alongside a stepson

Raymond Eugene Rose.

To honor his memory, Shorty leaves behind his children Rebecca Sue Vaughn of San Antonio,

TX, James Earnest Vaughn, wife Virginia Vaughn, of Chickasha, OK, Vicky Lynne Vaughn of

Oklahoma City, OK, Esther Christine Vaughn, husband Rudy Dartez, of Oklahoma City, OK,

Janice Elaine (Vaughn) Martin, husband Terry Nichols, of Yukon, OK, his stepchildren Donald

Wayne Scott, wife Maria Scott, of Tuttle, OK, Patricia Jane Rose, of Oklahoma City, OK, and

Laura Lee Rose, of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as his fourteen grandchildren, several

great-grandchildren, and his five cats.

A graveside service in honor of Shorty will be on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at

Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73131.
