Barbara Kay Day, 84 of Oklahoma City passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on April 26, 2025. Barbara was born on October 30, 1940, to Lawrence and Marie Wheeler in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Barbara had three brothers, Dwayne, Dale, and Gene Wheeler all deceased now. She loved telling stories about their time growing up and how they all got into trouble and how they took her to the tar pits to swim.
Barbara graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and went on to get married to Sam Caccamisi in 1961 and have two children and move to Oklahoma City and earn her bachelor’s degree in small business management and accounting at Oklahoma City University.
Barbara was an entrepreneur at heart, starting her first business, Health & Beauty Inc., Health Food Store in Shepherd Mall in 1972 and then moving into skin care and opening another business Maxi Salon on Grand & May Ave. She was ahead of her time and a mover and shaker in the business world. She went on from there to earn her Oklahoma Real Estate License and worked with Churchill & Brown & Associates for two years and then found her true love of mortgage banking. She loved helping everyone she knew with home ownership. She stayed with mortgage banking until she retired in 2020 from F&B Bank. She loved to help people achieve their best in life. She served on many boards, had many friends and loved to travel, but most of all she loved her family. She was a fierce protector and encourager with her children and granddaughter, always wanting more for them and teaching life experiences. She was a hands-on loving grandmother to her one and only granddaughter Tiffany. For many years, she thought dogs would be her destiny to be a grandmother too, but we proved her wrong.
Barbara leaves behind her daughter Vicki Williams & her husband Jim Williams of Oklahoma City, granddaughter Tiffany Ray & Michael Ray, great granddaughters Payton & Preslee Ray of Newcastle, and son Sam Caccamisi II, Oklahoma City, niece Rhonda Wisner & daughters Brittany & Kara Wisner of Broken Arrow, nephew Derek & Karen Wheeler & family, Broken Arrow, niece Kristi & Geoff Kesler & family, Owasso.
Barbara leaves behind a life legacy of integrity, love, compassion, and encouragement and is going to be dearly missed. She loved and she was loved by all.
"As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart." Proverbs 27:19
