Barbara Jones Lea-Slagle

Barbara was a third generation resident of OKC. Graduated from Classen High with the class of 1949. She married James D. Lea, D.D.S. between her sophomore and junior year at O.U. They had 50 wonderful years together until his death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William C. Jones, Clifford M. Jones, her son James D. (Jay) Lea, and one grandson. Rory Francis Malloy.

She took a great pleasure in being with her family. She was a long time member of All Souls’ Episcopal Church, where her parents and children attended and were also confirmed.

She was a member of Oak Tree C.C. where she found joy in various activities, including golf with her husband, and playing Mah Jongg with her friends. She found great comfort in her friends in her neighborhood of East Oak in Edmond. In the early 80’s she was an owner/broker of RLC Realty Co. specializing in upscale homes in NW OKC. She was a founding member of the 49er Lunch Bunch and past president of the Pen and Quill Book Club (’95-’96), and 40 plus year member of The Sewing Club of Quail Creek. She also served one year as President of the O.U. Phi Delta Theta Mothers Group. She particularly enjoyed spending time on her computer creating personalized greeting cards for her family and friends.

She leaves behind her cherished daughter Sarah E Malloy and husband, Paul. Three grandchildren Hugh (Trey) A Stout, wife Kimberly and sons Lexington, Rockwell and Prescott. Kyle Malloy and wife Kimmie, and Mallory A Malloy.

In December of 2015 Barbara married the Godfather of her children William F. Slagle, D.D.S., M.Ed. They resided in East Oak and enjoyed a very happy and fun life together. If you wish to remember Barbara please do so with a kind word or deed to someone who needs you.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, June 3, 2022 at All Souls’ Episcopal Church in the Chapel of St. Mary 6400 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116 with a reception to follow.
