

Bill was born December 9, 1929 in Blackwell, OK to Flossie and Edison B. Ebert. After graduating from Blackwell High School, he attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for 2 years. He then attended Oklahoma A & M (Oklahoma State University), graduating with a Business Administration Degree. He worked in a music store and played drums in the Quartet “Oklahoma Collegians” to pay for college. In 1950 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Nita Goodier. They lived in Stillwater, OK while Bill finished college then moved to Bartlesville, OK for 5 years with a two-year stay in Vista, California where he proudly served his country with the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton. After that they settled in Oklahoma City, OK in 1957. In January ’57 Bill joined his father in becoming a Mason of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, A.F. & A.M. As a dedicated and active member of Crown Heights Christian Church, Bill served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school, and was instrumental in the search and hire of the long serving minister, Parker Cross. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, uncle, great-uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He will always be remembered for his gentle and loving spirit, his sense of humor, and his love of music. At a young age he taught himself to play the piano by ear and would joyfully entertain whenever he was asked. He played the drums for the Nichols Hills Band for 5 years. He enjoyed travel, solving crossword puzzles, playing bridge with Nita and friends, dancing, and listening to music.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nita Ebert on December 2, 2013. Bill is survived by daughters Karen Brewer and husband Roger, Leigh Ann Albers and husband Paul; grandsons Eric Brewer, wife Emily and great granddaughter, Anna Kate, Clay Brewer, Mike Brewer, Cory Brewer, and Donald Albers; his sister Norma Vickers; sister-in-law Dora Goodier, brother-in-law Don Brewer and several wonderful, loving nieces and nephews. His parents; brother Derry Ebert and wife Carolee; sister Bobbie Brewer; brother-in-law Don Vickers and his brother-in-law Paul Goodier predecease him. The family would like to sincerely thank his dear caregivers, Monica Martinez, Maribell, Cinthia, Rosa, Mila, and Ginger, and his new Hospice nurse, Bri.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Crown Heights Christian Church, 4020 N. Western, OKC, OK 73118. Memorial donations may be made to Variety Care, 3000 N. Grand Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73107, or Crown Heights Christian Church.
