Billy Ray Manning

Billy Ray Manning, with family surrounding him, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 8th, 2011. Billy had made his decision about his eternity years ago and left this life in peace to be embraced by his Savior and Lord.

He was born April 9th, 1950 in Oklahoma City to parents William Ray and Etta Mae Manning. Billy spent years as a young boy in Ada however Bethany was where he grew up. Billy graduated from Central State University in 1976 and spent 35 years as a petroleum land man.

Billy and Maryann met in May of 1991 after 5 years of dating, she finally convinced him that he couldn’t live without her. They married in May of 1996. Besides Billy’s love of golf, Maryann and Billy loved to travel to Hawaii where Billy loved the secluded island, Lani.

Golf was more than a passion it was simply his way of life.

Billy lived to the fullest as all who know would attest. He was a beloved father, brother, son, grandpa and husband and there are no words to express our grief. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Mae Manning. He is survived by his adoring wife, Maryann Manning; three children, Bonnie McKenzie and husband, Brad, Leisha Lee and husband, Tony, and Jason Manning and wife, Dana; four perfect grandchildren, Savannah Jenkins, Colin Jenkins, Morgan Cummings, and his little princess Kayla Grace Lee; brother Dean Manning and wife, Beth; sister-in-law Dee Blankenship; nephew Justin Manning and wife, Lindsey and their daughter, Madeline; niece Jenna Harlow and husband, Josh.

Viewing will be held from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:30pm at Church of the Savior, 5600 NW 63rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK.
