

Bobbie Jean Gooden Hanna passed away after a lengthy illness March 13th 2015, at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 28th 1927 in Stinnett, Texas to Lena Libbie McCormick Gooden and Carl Harold Gooden. She was the youngest of three, who preceded her in death, and grew up in the small community of Stinnett which was homesteaded by her family, the original pioneers of Hutchinson County. After graduating from Stinnett High School as class valedictorian she attended Texas State College for Women (now Texas Women’s University) in Denton, Texas where she majored in business. In 1945 she married the love of her life, Harry Charles Hanna, also of Stinnett, Texas and the adventure of her life began. Bobbie and Harry were married for 60 years and together had three children, Carla Darleen Hanna of Golden, CO; Carol Jean Black of Burleson, TX; and Harry Wellington Hanna of Oklahoma City, OK. Bobbie volunteered her time to many charities including local hospitals, shelters, and community centered organizations. She was an avid bridge player and a master in the garden and enjoyed her time vacationing in the mountains of Angelfire, New Mexico. Known for her limitless compassion and undeniable wisdom among family and friends, she was adored by many. Bobbie is survived by her three children; son-in-law Roger Lee Black of Burleson, TX; grandchildren Carol Bailey McCormick Hanna and her husband Clinton Edward Quisenberry of Beaverton, OR; Jomen Samuel Black and his wife Megan McHugh Black of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; Micheal Joseph Black and his wife Cristina Shannon Black of Littleton, MA; great-grandchildren Sofia Anne Black, Isaac Samuel Black, Justin Richard Black, Jude Michael Black, and the many caregivers who supported her in health and in life to the end. Bobbie Hanna was a role model to all as a beacon of strength, courage, and the pioneer spirit giving hope and inspiration to forage on in the face of adversity. Viewing of Mrs. Bobbie Hanna will be held Thursday, March 19th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and the memorial service will be held Friday, March 20th at 10:00am in the Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel, 5820 NW 41st Street in Warr Acres, OK. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, March 21st in Stinnett, TX at the Stinnett Cemetery, also known as Sunset Memorial.
