Bruce William Hammett, loving husband of Sandra Lee Gregory, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Bruce was preceded in death by his father Fredrick Floyd Hammett and mother Marion Taylor Kennedy Hammett.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, two daughters Jessica Lynn Cabello and family and Annete Talley and family and son Matthew Bruce Hammett; sister Fredrika Ortloff and family, brothers Taylor Kennedy Hammett and family and David Carlyle Hammett and family and four grandchildren LeAnn Nashire, Mavis Talley, Nice Nashire and Lilian Nashire.
Bruce was born in Carthage, Missouri on June 24, 1944. He attended Pittsburg State University and Tulsa School of Law. He was a practicing attorney in Midwest City, Oklahoma until retirement in 2007.
Bruce was blessed with many talents and interests including home building, oil painting, poem and story writing, singing, golf and basketball. He even built the family home.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Edmond and was active in the Chancel Choir.
Viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday, May 25th from 4 – 8 pm and the funeral will be Tuesday, May 26th at 2 pm also at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
