

Carolyn Peek Wilson, 79, died October 13, 2013. She was born June 22, 1934 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Maxine Lea Peek and J. Eldon Peek. She attended Horace Mann Grade School, Classen High School and The University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved to do good deeds quietly for all those she came to know. She was loved by all who knew her especially her family. She was a master seamstress, painter, pianist, gardener and chef. There wasn't anything that she couldn't do. She was a longtime member of All Souls’ Episcopal Church, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and Junior League of Oklahoma City. She was an intensely loyal and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Maxine and J. Eldon Peek, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, J. Hawley and Adelaide Flynn Wilson and Nancy Norville Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David B. Wilson. Her children, Madeline Wilson Schwartz and husband Bradd, Sharon Wilson Allen and husband Billy, and Anne Wilson. Grandchildren Lauren Schwartz, John Allen and Anne Allen Clapp and husband Brandon. Her sister Ruth Janice “Dolly” Foster and husband Charles. Brother-in-law Walter C. "Derby" Wilson and wife Joanne (Houston, TX). Nieces and nephew Adelaide Wilson Hornberger and husband Mark (San Francisco, CA), Courtney Wilson McWalter and husband Keith (Granville, Ohio), John Wilson (Houston, TX), Carrie Wilson Major and husband Don (Houston, TX), Valerie Wilson McCarthy and husband Barry (Woodside, CA), and Diane Foster Davis. Cousins Nancy Ketchum MacKenzie and husband Len (Dallas, TX) and Marty Ketchum (Houston, TX). She is also survived by a host of friends whose friendships began in childhood and remain strong like family to this day - especially "Dinner Club." The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Allan Metz and Christy Thompson for their extraordinary care and friendship and the 3rd floor nursing and Palliative Care Team at Mercy Hospital. Also, deep gratitude to her devoted caregivers during her extended illness. Mom, we will miss your twinkling sky blue eyes and beautiful bright smile but we will see you soon. The Memorial Service will be held at All Souls’ Episcopal Church, on Thursday, October 17, at 2pm.
