February 12, 1964 – June 6, 2025
Charles Wesley Newberry Jr., known to many as Wes, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 61.
Wes was born on February 12, 1964, in Ramstein, Germany, to Charles Wesley Newberry Sr. and Karen Ann Kirby Newberry. He was the beloved brother of Stacey.
After moving around during his early years, Wes grew up in Oklahoma City. He attended Tulakes Elementary, Hefner Middle School, and Putnam City High School, graduating in 1982. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University, where he met the love of his life, Megan. They were married and, together, built a loving family with three children: Chaz, Kayla, and Cody.
He dedicated 32 years of his career to Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling, where he held various roles—primarily in management—and contributed greatly to the company before his retirement.
Wes is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Megan; his three children, Chaz and his wife Ashley, Kayla, and Cody and his wife Michaela. Wes was a proud and devoted grandfather to Audrina, Braelyn, Wesley, Colt, and Cooper. He is also survived by his sister, Stacey, and her husband Steve; his niece, Chloe, and nephew, Asher; along with many extended family members and close friends who will deeply miss his warmth, wisdom, and unforgettable presence.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, located at 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will take place afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates any donations made to the American Heart Association. Your support means a great deal during this time.
