Charles Arthur Floyd Teel

Charles Floyd Teel, age 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Charles was born December 20, 1934. A visitation for Charles will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Service. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 11:00 AM at Newcastle Church of the First Born, 3330 NW Beverly Ln, Newcastle, OK 73065, with burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, at 3:00pm.

Charles Arthur “Floyd” Teel of Oklahoma City passed from this life on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1934 in Stonewall, OK to Merle Lee Teel and Gertrude Viola (Gossage) Teel. He attended school in the Stonewall area. In his youth, Floyd enjoyed hunting and learned to play the guitar. Growing up, he worked as a laborer harvesting cotton and broomcorn. On August 20, 1954, he was married to Virginia Lenora (Couch) Teel. To this union, they were blessed with 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Floyd was employed in the steel industry for over 35 years. Retiring from Robberson Steel and working briefly for Capitol Steel. In 1955, Floyd was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. His walk with God was his passion and defined his life from this point until his passing. After Virginia’s passing in May of 2003, Floyd was wed to Angela G. (Bommarito) Holt on October 2, 2004. Through this union, he became a second father and grandfather to (Angela’s) 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Floyd found great joy in his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family any time he had the opportunity. He also enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments; his favorites being the guitar and the harmonica.

Floyd was survived by his wife Angela of the home, his children Larry Teel and wife Anna Marie of OKC, OK and their children Jeffrey Teel and wife Charlotte and Jeremy Teel and wife Nicole; Brenda (Teel) Miller and husband Curtis of Tecumseh, OK and their children Ramie Carter and husband Jeromy, Jake Miller and wife Cassandra, Bradley Miller and wife Jewel and Kimberly Chunn and husband Kellen; DeAnna (Teel) Lewis and husband Shawn of Blanchard, OK and their daughter Kaitlin Burson and husband Clint; and Wanda (Teel) Eller and husband David of Yale, OK and their children Jessica Castor and husband Robert, Emily Kirkpatrick and husband David and Anna Eller. Angela’s children Lisa (Holt) West and husband Aaron of Lake Stevens, WA and their children Chelsea Wray and husband Brandon, Katherine DeBoor and husband Chance, Alex Swezey, Dylan Swezey, Evan West, and Whitney West; Leandra (Holt) Renshaw and husband Mike of Arlington, WA and their daughter Emily VanVolkenburg; Peter Holt of Snohomish, WA and children Mason Holt, Winter Holt and Leyland Holt; and Mary Holt of OKC, OK; and one sibling, Dorothy Layton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Teel, parents Merle and Gertrude Teel, siblings, John Teel, Beatrice Teel, Ethel Nelson, Fred Teel, William Teel, Geneva Teel, Elsie Teel, Jewell Hughes, Ed Teel, and Perry Teel.
