Christine was born on January 21, 1936 in Cade, OK to Robert and Euline (Hiser) Cummings. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and spent 30+ years working at Western Electric/ Lucent Technologies before retiring in the early 1990’s. She was a long-time member of the Western Electric Pioneers. Christine made friends where ever she went. She loved to travel to Branson, took an Alaskan cruise, and was a regular at Fan Fair in Nashville with her cousin “Sis” and Aunt Jo. Christine and Aunt Jo also attended countless craft fairs together. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and playing games at the local casino.
Family was always a priority for Christine. In 1994, she was blessed with the birth of her only grandchild, her granddaughter Meghan. Christine cared for Meghan when she was young while Teresa was at work and the two became the best of friends. She loved going to support her granddaughter during her years of competitive dance recitals and competitions and she was proud of the woman she has become. Christine also served as a caretaker for both of her parents as they aged. She enjoyed her dog Shorty and always jumped at the opportunity to babysit her grand-dogs, Chloe and Murphy. Christine Williams was a dedicated mother, a proud Memma, a loving aunt and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Euline Cummings, as well as her brother Sherwood Cummings and his wife Judy. She is survived by her daughter Teresa and husband Kirk Hager; granddaughter Meghan and husband Austin Dunbar; four nephews: Greg and wife Shelly Cummings, Scott and wife Shelia Cummings, David and wife Pam Cummings, and Michael and wife Adriana Cummings; several great nieces and nephews as well as other beloved family and friends.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Barbara Moakley, Donnitta Norfleet, and Rolana Miller for the wonderful care, comfort, and friendship they provided Christine during her extended illness. You truly made a difference and we will be forever grateful.
