

Claude George Jones, 96, passed away on December 28, 2016 at Golden Oaks Retirement Village, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Claude was born to Jesse and Tilda Jones on February 1, 1920 in Jones, Oklahoma. He lived in Jones until 2012 when he moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Claude married Dorothy Gwyn Frederick on April 1, 1944 in Jones, Oklahoma and they were married for 67 years until her death. Claude graduated from Jones High School in 1938. Claude was a pilot during World War II and was stationed in North Africa. He was the Postmaster in Jones, Oklahoma until his retirement in 1975. Claude and Dorothy loved to travel, play music, play card games, paint, and spend time with family and friends. Claude was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a faithful member of the First United Methodist in Jones, Oklahoma. Claude is survived by his son, David Jones and his wife Glenda of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Claudia Mornhinweg and husband Steve of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren; Tyler Jones and his wife Kate, Kiley Jones, Jeff Mornhinweg and wife Rebecca, Paul Mornhinweg, Gary Mornhinweg and wife Jennifer; 8 great-grandchildren, Cora Mornhinweg, Sylvie Mornhinweg, Cecily Mornhinweg, Hailey Mornhinweg, Brayden Mornhinweg, Bailey Mornhinweg, Brooklyn Mornhinweg, and Edie Jones. Claude was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Jones, Oklahoma with entombment immediately following at the Jones IOOF Cemetery, Jones, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Jones, Oklahoma.
