

Clem Paul McWhorter, 72, died on April 12, after battling cancer for 3 years. Clem grew up in Oklahoma City, attended Putnam City High School, served in the United States Marine Corp, was a skilled carpenter, and served locally for the last 36 years as a Real Estate agent and broker. He married his High School sweetheart, Shirley Ann Robinson, and was a genuinely devoted husband throughout her life. Clem served as a Director of the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS’, on several of their committees, and was awarded their 2006 Silent Angel Award “in recognition of remaining in the background while quietly and committedly serving.” He was also a longtime member of the Yukon Rotary Club, serving as both a Director and Treasurer, receiving Merit Awards for “devoted and unselfish service above self to the Club and community.” He is survived by sister Shirley (Ed) Steiner; children Vickey (Brian) Banks and Stacey (Don) Paddock; grandchildren Casey and Parker Banks, Johnathon and Alex Paddock. Clem was preceded in death by his parents Clem and Florence Stafford McWhorter; sister Anna Christine (Rudy) Frahm; brother David Michael McWhorter; and his treasured wife of 48 years, Shirley. Clem was widely respected for his integrity, loyalty, hard work ethic, and willingness to help others. He was a man his daughters will forever be proud of having as a father. Services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2 p.m., Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
