

Dana is survived by her children, Brian Seaton, his wife Terri-Lynn, and grandchildren Abbi and Reese of Fort Worth; Michelle Seaton-Tidmore, her daughter Teanna Tidmore-Kays and her wife Rebecca "Shane" Kays also of Oklahoma City.
Dana was born in El Reno, Oklahoma to Carl and Alice Dahl on February 10, 1942. She graduated from Northwest Classen in 1959 and from Grinnell College in 1963 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts. Following graduation from Grinnell, Dana was one of the first groups of volunteers to participate in the Peace Corps. From 1963-1965, she worked with and served families in several different cities in Columbia. She cared for the people she served so much that she returned to visit the families that she worked with in 2009.
Dana met Don Seaton on a blind date through mutual friends at TAFB in 1966, where they both worked and later married in 1967. They welcomed their first child, Brian Earl Seaton in Feb 1970, and Michelle Lee Seaton in March of 1975. While raising the children she finished her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. Upon completion of her Masters degree she embarked on her career with DHS from 1988-2009, and then worked part time with DHS as the regional Spanish translator until 2014.
Dana was an accomplished writer, who won many awards for short stories and magazine articles. She earned the trust and admiration of her contemporaries within the local and state writers clubs. She was an active and a dedicated member of Westminster Church, Stephens Ministries, acting in commercials and plays, and a board member on numerous organizations. Her children remember Dana as a kind-hearted mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 7th at 11am in the Chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 4400 N Shartel Ave, Oklahoma City. Internment services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dana’s life. Condolences can be sent to Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper funeral home.
