

Dewie Venable of Choctaw, Oklahoma loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 85. He was born October 3, 1929 in Bonham, Texas and for many years owned and operated Dewie’s Electric Service in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Then he went to work for Oklahoma City as an Electrical Inspector for 20 years until his retirement. He enjoyed buying and selling poor starving colts that he felt sorry for just to show them love and find them a wonderful home. He enjoyed hanging out at Rooster’s Café in Jones with his buddies and drinking coffee. He enjoyed working in his garden and anything else to keep him outside and busy. Dewie was preceded in death by his parents James and Mable Venable, brother Lloyd Venable; sister, Margaret Cain; and granddaughter, LaDonna Griffin. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Bertha Venable of the home; daughter Shirley McManus of Choctaw; son Bill Venable of Choctaw; grandchildren, Shayna Payne and husband Josh of Edmond, OK; Jedidiah Venable and wife Maho of Tacoma, Washington; Amanda Venable of St. George, Utah; and Hattie Venable of Guthrie, Oklahoma; 4 great-granddaughters, Samantha Brockhaus of Choctaw; McKinsey Impson of Moore; Bella and Aven Payne; great-grandson, Rush Payne of Edmond; siblings, Jack Venable and his wife Wanda of Garland, Texas; Billie Venable of Mulberry, Texas; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Venable of Mulberry, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews he loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with burial following in Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jones, Oklahoma.
