

Dorothy Louise Eckroat-Van Horn died March 23, 2016. She was born October 2, 1919 in Jones, Oklahoma to John Albert and Margaret Veronica Eckroat who preceded her in death. She also had a deceased brother, Henry Bernard Eckroat. Dorothy attended Jones Elementary Grade School in Jones, OK and graduated high school in 1937 from Old Central High School in downtown Oklahoma City, OK. In 1939 she married Eugene Page Van Horn at St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City, OK. She is currently a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in OKC. For twelve years Eugene and Dorothy ran Morman Mineral and Evergreen Feed Store at the Stockyards in OKC. They co-owned Van Horn’s General Store and Kitty Kat Florist for twenty-five years in Crutcho (a suburb of OKC). Dorothy belonged to various floral organizations, was a gifted floral designer and enjoyed traveling to summer conventions all over the United States. Survivors include: one daughter, Martha Louise Roller; one son, Donald E. Van Horn; two grandchildren, Charla Louise Hinshaw and son-in-law David Wayne Hinshaw and Charlan Eugene Roller and daughter-in-law Kathy Harris, all of Oklahoma City, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb Joshua Hinshaw (Ft. Worth, Texas), Kaylin Page Hinshaw (Colorado Springs, CO), and Kyle Ray Powers of Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Associated Catholic Charities, 1501 N.
