Earlene Horn Ringwald

Earlene Horn Ringwald, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2011. Earlene, also known by those closest to her as “Grandmommy”, was born in Stewart County, Tennessee on August 7, 1918 to Omer and Mae Horn. As a young girl, her family moved to Granite City, Illinois where she graduated from Granite City High School and went on to attend Summers Business College. She was employed for years as a legal secretary with Mobil Oil Company in St. Louis, Missouri. Earlene married Fred B. Ringwald on August 30, l947 and they moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their family. Earlene was an active, long time member of Central Presbyterian Church where she received the Honorary Life Membership award given by the women of the church for her many years of dedicated service and years of working with the Mobile Meals Service program. Through the years she was very active in the lives of her children volunteering at their schools and their various outside activities. The family all agree she was the consummate homemaker and spent her entire life devoted to the well being and happiness of her family. Earlene was predeceased by her mother, father and brother Raymond and her loving husband, Fred B.Ringwald. She is survived by her adoring children, Fred C. Ringwald and wife, Margaret; daughter Judy Seiley and her late husband, Philip of Enon, Ohio; Robin Leonhardt and her husband Phil; and granddaughter Erica Blaschke Zolner and husband Derek of Chicago, Illinois. Grandmommy found great delight and love in her grandchildren: Jeff Ringwald and wife Sarah of Dallas, Texas; Lisa Ringwald Kloberdanz and husband Paul of OKC, Philip Seiley of Enon, Ohio, Callie Seiley Dunn and husband Jeff of Columbus, Ohio; Carl Seiley of Columbus, Ohio, and Peter Seiley of Cleveland, Ohio; and Kyle Leasure of Oklahoma City. Earlene was blessed to live a long and fruitful life, living to enjoy great grandchildren Katherine and Jacob Ringwald , Paul and John Luke Kloberdanz , Liam, Maddox, and Owen Zolner and Caleff Dunn. Grandmommy will be greatly missed for her love of life and the great love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The family is thankful for the friendship and loving care for Grandmommy from Lori Haley, Tricia Haley and Angela Cartwright and the loving Hospice care from Donna Lee and Ann Wilson. A celebration of her life will be held at Central Presbyternian Church, 50th and North May Avenue on Friday, January 21st at ll:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Oklahoma County.
