
Edward C. Noble, 84, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011. He was born on November 25, 1926, in Tulare, California to Austin and Annie (Fassler) Noble. Edward graduated from East High School in 1945. He joined the U.S. Navy in November, 1944, and served for four years where he received numerous awards including the World War II Victory Medal.
On June 28, 1952, he married Mabel Krewson. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Austin and Annie Noble, his guardian and aunt, Mary Vanderbeck, his brothers Austin Calvin Noble, Raymond Noble, Virginia Saale, and Bea Murray.
After being discharged from the Navy, he worked as a TV repairman and later opened up his own shop in North Kansas City, Missouri. In 1969, he began working for Trans World Airlines as an airline mechanic working in Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri, and retiring in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1991, as a lead line mechanic.
Ed enjoyed volunteer work at Integris Baptist Hospital, where he earned the status of Volunteer Auxiliary lifetime member. He would also visit patients in the Heart Hospital and sharing information about The Mended Hearts, Inc.
Other activities he enjoyed were playing golf and helping with Meals on Wheels once a month. He was an avid bowler and has earned many trophies in that activity. He liked fishing with his brother, A.C. and sister Virginia.
He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of New Covenant Christian Church. Donations can be made in honor of Edward Noble to the American Heart Association. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mabel Noble, daughter, Gerre Riggs, who resides in Edmond, Oklahoma with her husband, Steve Riggs and granddaughters Crista and Sara Riggs, brother, Charles Wesley Noble, sister, Lucille Blair, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8th from 8am-5pm and Friday, September 9th from 8pm-8am. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m. September 10th, at New Covenant Christian Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
