Elaine Russell

Mary Elaine Russell, 83, passed away June 2, 2016. She was born August 10, 1932 in Alva, Oklahoma to parents Leo and Catherine Brown. Elaine graduated from Alva High School, and then went on to attend business school in Oklahoma City. On June 12, 1953, Elaine married Charles Russell. She worked as a Key Punch Operator until 1982, and afterwards enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with family, and playing Bridge. She enjoyed volunteering at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, as well as at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church & School. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Teresa McCoy; Sister Helen Culp; Brother Ed Brown; and great-granddaughter Hannah Russell. She is survived by her husband Charles Russell; son Jim Russell and wife Brenda of Oklahoma City; daughter Pam Cantillon and husband Rich of Blackwell; daughter Sherri Davis and husband Chad of Yukon; sister Kathleen Reed and husband Larry; Brother Jim Brown and wife Susie; grandchildren Kelly and Jill McCoy, Brian Russell, Sean and Kathy Russell, Kasey and Maddie McCoy, Austin Cantillon, Nichole and Hayden Bierig, Colby Cantillon, Kaitlan Davis; 6 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary service will be held 7pm Monday, June 6, 2016 at Guardian West Funeral Home, and services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
