Ellen Marlene McNeill

Ellen Marlene McNeill, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 18, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1951, in Fairview, Oklahoma, and grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma. Ellen graduated from Bethany High School and dedicated her life to her family and community.

Ellen was a devoted stay-at-home mom to her two boys before becoming a librarian for the Putnam City School District, where she worked for over 30 years. Her perfect days were spent with her family or going on outings with her late husband, Ronald Felton McNeill, to whom she was married for 53 years before he passed in 2023. Together, they enjoyed going on walks, attending their children's and grandchildren's events, teaching fishing clinics, and being actively involved in their church.

Ellen was known for her storytelling, her caring nature, and her heart for serving others. She loved entertaining people, cooking, and listening to country music. Ellen's strong faith shone through her dedication to her church, where she found joy in caring for and serving others.

Ellen is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Felton McNeill; her mother, Roberta Darlene Proffitt; and her father, Marvin Orin Proffitt. She is survived by her two siblings Jimmy spouse Daryl and Karen spouse Randy, two sons Jason and wife Laurie and Justin and wife Angie. She has six wonderful grandchildren Lindsey and husband Cole, Mackensey, Myles, Logan, Cody and Rylee and great-grandchildren Cooper and Collins.

Ellen's viewing will be held on Thursday, February 27th, from 4-8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, located at 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. Her memorial service will be held on February 28th at 11 am at OKC First Church of the Nazarene, located at 4400 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. We invite all who knew and loved Ellen to join us in celebrating her life.
