Elwanda Saylor, age 94, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at her home in Oklahoma City. Elwanda Hardeman was born in Oklahoma City, Ok on August 29, 1927. She was the daughter of Hal and Dora Hardeman. She married Otto Saylor on April 20, 1943, in Oklahoma City at the young age of 15 and loved caring for her husband, children and grandbabies through the years. She took care of many children with her work at Southwest Christian Church Daycare and Sunbeam Daycare. She also ironed clothes for many in her early years of marriage. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting blankets for her family, sharing her love of arts and crafts, and garage sales. She always had her big Love’s drinking jug with her, and especially enjoyed her tea parties with her granddaughters. She was loved by many. Elwanda is survived by her children: LaDonna Gober of Newcastle, LaTeresa Crook of Pauls Valley, and Bill L. Ring-Saylor of Oklahoma City; 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, her brother Melvin “Lemmy” Hardeman and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto, son Thirl Dean “Butchie” Saylor, daughter LaJuana Ann Jacobsen, brothers: Hal “Jr” Hardeman, Albert “Churby” Hardeman, Bill Lee Hardeman, Gerald “Red” Hardeman and sister: Doris Lorette. Viewing and Services will both be held at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services – South Chapel located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Services will be Friday, May 20th at 11 AM with interment immediately following at Sunnylane Cemetery. Viewing will be on Thursday, May 19th from Noon to 7 PM.
