Eric was born to parents John Chester and Gladys (Berg) Sizemore on April 20,1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After finishing elementary school, he went on to graduate from Piedmont High School before enlisting in the Air Force, where he spent four years of his life serving our country.
Some of his most significant accomplishments were when he started a family business, owning the company for over twenty years, being a Lieutenant for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department and more importantly, finding the love of his life, Sonya, who he has been married to for sixty-four years. During that time, the couple started a family, having three children whom they love dearly.
A perfect day for Eric would be on the farm having a picnic with the whole family. He loved to listen to Gospel and Country music. Eric had the ability to laugh at himself and tease others with a kind heart. He was someone who always put his family first, teaching his children that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. He was a man that loved God and adored his wife and children.
Though Eric has passed, he will live on through all the memories and love created with his family and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys Sizemore.
He is survived by his loving wife Sonya Sizemore, their children David Sizemore and his wife Debbie of Valdosta, Georgia, Eric Sizemore and wife Becky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Steven Sizemore of Edmond, Oklahoma, siblings Romayne Sizemore, Raymond Sizemore, and Karen Biggs and her husband George of Piedmont, Oklahoma, along with eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A very special thank you goes to Angela White, his niece for being his caregiver in his final moments.
A memorial service to celebrate Eric will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
