

On October 24, 1942, Frederick was born to Henry and Inez Bobbitt in Lyons, GA, the oldest of eight children. Fred found Christ at an early age. He served as an altar boy in church. Fred graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, CA in 1960. Fred began working at General Motors and retired on July 1, 1991.
Fred married Delores Radford in June 1963. To this union was born Septina Bobbitt McDonell, the late Frederick Bobbitt, Jr. and Raymond Bobbitt.
Fred worked at Arroyo Park, City of Oakland, CA as the Park Manager. He became known as one of the favorite umpires because of his unique way of calling balls and strikes. He coached numerous men’s and women’s softball teams including The Youngblood’s, S.W.A.T., and the United Auto Worker’s Night Owls Women’s Softball teams for years. Fred was a Tennis Coach as well. Fred also received a Labor Award from the Oklahoma City NAACP Branch for all of his contributions to the Community.
Fred and Dorothy (Mozee) married on March 29,1980. To this union a blended family was formed including Pondell, Brian and Gwen.
Fred relocated to Oklahoma City in 1983 when he transferred to the General Motors Assembly Plant/UAW Local 1999. Fred became the President of the Retirees for the UAW Local 1999 in Oklahoma City for many years.
Fred served on the International Chaplaincy Committee for the UAW along with his wife, Carol Forte-Bobbitt.
Fred became a Deacon, an assistant Bishop and a fully ordained Bishop. He then founded True Love Full Gospel Church in Oklahoma City. During his tenure He ordained many Elders and Evangelists. As a Bishop he ordained his wife, Carol Forte, on September 24, 2006.
Carol and Bishop Bobbitt were engaged and united in marriage on March 19, 2011 at Praise Jesus Temple of Faith, Oklahoma City, OK. This marriage extended his family with his last daughter, Roxanne and grandson Terry, Jr.
He leaves his wife, Carol Forte-Bobbitt, Oklahoma City, OK; four sons: Pondell Lewis (Kesha), Midwest City, OK, Brian Lewis (Necole), Midwest City, OK, Daughter-in-law Annabel of Tracy, CA, Raymond Bobbitt (Evita), Danville, CA. Also three daughters: Septina Bobbitt McDonnell, San Diego, CA, Roxanne Forte-Carter (Greg) Oklahoma City, OK, Gwendolyn Cooks (Michael), Thibodaux, LA. And also a bonus son, Jermaine Jordan.
Two sisters: Sarah Crawford (Lonnie), Oakland, CA and Mary Louise of Oakland, CA. Four brothers: Roderick Bobbitt (Verdie), Olathe, KS, Dennis Bobbitt (Mary), Olathe, KS, Roger Mitchell (Leilani) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rodney Mitchell (Elise), Phoenix, AZ and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
